Soft meet Sustainability with behno shirts

behno Soft is an Understatement

behno creates some of the softest shirts we have ever put on. Sure, call it a spoiler alert but we like to get right to it. The NYC-based label has been seen in tons of media and pressers, so we wanted to try the brand that claims to have the “softest men’s fitted tee.”

Our crew wanted to try on some of the new shirts offered by behno, so we nabbed one of the two color options and took them out on the town for the ultimate duuude review. With behno mainly making shirts and bags/handbags for women, we were cautiously optimistic about their mens tees.

INITAL IMPRESSIONS

These lightweight, long-sleeve and short-sleeve crewneck tees just might become an essential staple for your day-to-day. Ethically crafted from a sustainable and luxurious micromodal blend, 'The Softest Tee' has a classic, fitted silhouette. Each behno shirt is coveted for its exceptional finishing, feel and comfort, plus 10% of all sales from nanamota will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of America across the United States.

Each shirt features:

  • Slim Fit. Size Up for a Slightly Relaxed Fit

  • Composition: 96% Modal, 4% Spandex

  • Wash and Dry Inside Out. Machine Wash Cold. Tumble Dry Low.

Right out of the box these shirts were a must have/must wear wardrobe addition. The smooth feel of the chest, arm, and sleeve construction plus the weight of the shirts were on point. Not too thick/bulky and not so thin that it felt like wearing windbreaker material- these shirts just the right balance of texture and comfort. The material felt like butter and the quality was clear right in the cut lines. The length, fit, tailored/slim look, and feel on our skin was something we couldn’t get enough of.

Our initial duuude impression: so soft it is like putting on a cloud

TRYING THEM OUT

Now that we got the initial thought logged in our noggins, we wanted to try these shirts out for a real wear-test. What is ironic is as we were heading out the door for a flight, the box arrived. So, naturally we tossed the shirt on, threw on a hoodie (heading to the snow) and tested and ranked these shirts on their overall Construction, Material Quality, and Feel/Wearability.

Construction

The construction of these shirts were top notch. The materials used are both eco-conscious and sustainable. The 96% Modal, 4% Spandex composition was a great blend of stretch-ability and also comfort on the skin. The sew lines were clean, the feel was solid, and the fitting was there where it needed to be. We wore the shirt in the car ride to the airport, on the plane, off the plane, in the Uber ride to the hotel, at the hotel, and even to bed. Yeah- all day wear and the shirt didn’t lose shape or fit.

  • Construction Rating: 9/10

Material Quality

Quality is key. When it comes to the material used in the shirts, the quality can be a difference maker. We’ve all had those shirts you washed once after wearing it and it shrunk a size after and never looked the same. Hate that. These shirts didn’t do that at all. We tried it out and washed them several times- each time the shirts looked and felt like we just got them shipped to the door.

  • Material Rating: 9/10

Feel/wearability

Here is where the rubber meets the road- or in this case the shirts meet the body. Huh? Whatever, look, the feel of shirts on your chest/torso matters. Our crew tossed on the shirts and wore them out and about in our day of travel. We could not have been more comfortable. We tossed a hoodie over it and the material didn’t itch one time (for not washing it and putting it right on), the cool touch warmed up to our bodies so there was the perfect temp. control all day, and the fitted element was not constricting in the slightest. We will say- if you don’t like the feeling or look of a fitted shirt, these may not be your style as they accent what you are working with-if you get what we are saying. You could go up a size to eliminate some of this though.

With regards to sizing, you can check out the sizing guide offered by behno to find the right size of shirt to go with. Our crew for the most part are in the 6 foot tall range and typically wear a medium to large size in general. we suggest going to a Large for some added room but if snug and firm fitting is your style a medium cut range would do the trick!

  • Feel/Wearability Rating: 10/10

Our crew dug the shirts and would say they’re one of the more comfortable shirts we have ever tested.
