Knack Bags: Versatile Carry Solution for All
Knack, Knack, Who’s there?- Only the most versatile backpack this side of Earth. Lame intro (we know), but jokes aside the Knack Bags #onebaglife motto is serious business. Look- we all want a legit everyday backpack to haul our gear, from laptops to carry-on essentials but rarely do we find one that features it all. The crew at Knack Bags figured it out and developed one cool addition to the everyday carry game.
Our crew does a lot of traveling- from local to long distance, we are always looking for new and exciting carry ideas. Since one moment we need to access our laptop to the next we need to pack our gear to take on the night, we don’t want to carry more than we can carry (if that makes sense). That’s where we thought of giving the lineup of Knack Bags a try. Our crew connected with their crew and they sent us 2 bags to try out: Small and Medium bags. Let’s get Knacking!
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
Our two boxes containing the Indigo Blue Medium Knack Bag and the Small Sangria Red color bag arrived at our door ready to be put to the test. Each bag was wrapped in a protective cover and another carry bag for good measure. The boxes they came in were even cool!
Ok so once we unpacked the boxes and got our hands on the bags, the aesthetics and simple make-up of the bags were slick. The backpack was lightweight yet felt durable, wear-resistant, and the added water-resistant body made a great impression. On both sizes bags the zippering systems were smooth, the various compartments were easily accessed and the back straps and backing itself of the pack was soft and cushiony for added comfort.
The sizing, shape, material, texture and external look/zipper system was an instant hit.
PACK IT UP!
We’ve done a few different reviews on other bags and everyday carry gear such as duffels and slings. So finding a unique way to test the Knack Bags in a true and rare form was something we wanted to explore. So we did something we have never done before: we let a kid try it out. If you have or know anyone who has kids, the moment you give them something, they have to try and rip it apart, stretch it until it breaks, or somehow try and demolish it before anyone can bat an eye. So- we invited one of our crew members’ to give the Small Bag to their 6 year old and let them “have at it.” Challenge accepted.
So with no more than those instructions we handed the Small Knack Bag over and let this kid do their thing. Within moments, each and every zipper was tested. Rigorous back and forth opening and closing for what felt like an hour. As they explored the zipper, they unlocked the spacious main compartment with the organized pockets, fleece-lined tablet pocket and the key leash (removable). As they opened up the expandable packing compartments they instantly were led to more storage spots and secure housing for clothes, etc….should they decide to go on a trip (with their parents of course). As they flipped, tossed, and man-handled the Knack Bag, a hidden water bottle pocket was found with zip-away pockets and even more hidden pockets both on the front and bottom of the bag.
After exploring the compartment of the bag itself and testing every zipper- they then took it up a notch. Within moments they were shoving stuffed animals, walkie talkies, clothes, more stuffed animals, a water bottle, an iPad, a vintage Polaroid camera, extra film, coloring books, markers and a handheld drone into the bag. Seriously all that was put in all the various storage compartments this bag features. Then, you guessed it, more zipping. This time though, full of their essentials, the zippering brutality this bag took was nothing short of nail biting. Through the agony of watching this go down there was one outcome: the bag handled it like a champ! No wear or tear, all the items fit and were easy to access, and the bag was still wearable and comfortable. At then at the end of all this we asked our mini tester their thoughts:
“This is the best gift you’ve ever given me.” Dad of the year or bag of the year? Verdict is still out. And apparently we’re out of keeping our new favorite bag to ourselves?
So while the Small Knack Bag test was a success, how did the medium bag fair?
Step aside kid- let the duuude crew take this one.
Much to the same results of the Small Knack Bag, the Medium Bag had the same impact. The larger 15” laptop computer pocket and similar spacious main compartments were easy to access and fill. Capacity to hold up to 2-3 changes of clothes, the easy-access suitcase lid and hidden trolley sleeve were legit additions to a bag like this. The same admiration was expressed when our crew did our best to zip test and compartment fill as our mini tester. We loaded the bag up with our everyday essentials (sort of the same minus the coloring books and stuffed animals), and it still handled our stuff like a champ. Comfortable to wear, easy to load, and even easier to access our gear, this bag did it all.
So who tested it best? We will let you be the judge of that but both tests revealed the Knack Bag’s are legit AF!

BRAND INFO
The idea behind Knack came from a simple observation: wherever Knack Bags looked, they found people carrying too many bags. A bag for work, one for the gym, another for their backs and one more for the computer. So on and on…
They call it the Knack Pack, and they hope it will make it a bit easier to help you get out your front door more often so you can discover new places, meet new people, and enjoy all that’s around you!
