One thing Peak Design is known for is creating quality carry bags for any adventure. Now in its 2nd generation, their Everyday Sling v2 boasts aesthetic and functional updates based on feedback from thousands of passionate customers. Peak grabbed hold of feedback, reworked an already trusted everyday pack, and modified some key elements for even more functionality for work, play, or everyday.
With an upgraded sling one can continue to explore the world with a pack designed for carrying a DSLR camera to a small kit and up to a laptop for work. Our crew went for the 10L to test out on the go from work meetings to impromptu explorations around the city.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
When our crew unpacked the Everyday Sling V2 we had the same eager excitement as we have had in reviewing Peak’s other upgraded line of products including the Everyday Backpack and Travel Duffel Pack.
Just like those other initial impressions, the Everyday Sling didn’t disappoint. The extremely sleek and lightweight everyday carry bag instantly was seen as the everyday bag one would want for bringing along a laptop, field notes, and some pens. The 13” laptop sleeve sets up for a perfect everyday bag and the lightweight design doesn’t skimp nor use wastes space.
With an 13" laptop sleeve, the 10L Sling sets up perfectly as a minimalist everyday work bag. As a photo bag, it'll give you substantially more capacity than the 6L, while still feeling compact and streamlined. With a handle for hand carry or a slim yet durable sling- this bag gives more options for toting around the tote (can you even call it that!?).
The initial pass at the bags dimensions, layout, and access had solid takeaways. The main zip offers wide room for accessing the goods inside while the quick stash front pocket made a perfect home for the notebook, pens, and wallet. The axial attachment and convertible sling/waist strap were designed with the person on the go in mind.
The overall feel of the zippers, bag straps, and outer weatherproof 100% recycled 400D shell has our crew geeking out.

PACK IT UP
Our crew goes to a lot of meetings and for some of us are always on the move. So a trusted go to everyday bag is a must have and an often used price of gear in our collection- so testing out the Everyday Sling was a walk in the park (literally and metaphorically). We decided to load up the bag with the essentials we typically carry each day- Laptop, cell phone, car keys, wallet, sunglasses, and portable battery. We also included a few pens and a pad of field notes for jotting down life’s revelations as they come to us. All in all we loaded the bag up and hit the town.

Throwing on the Everyday Sling was easy. The padded cross-body strap features a quick-adjuster allowing you to easily loosen and tighten as needed. Loosing up when needing to access our gear and then tightening up when then heading back out made accessibility features a major standout. With a weatherproof UltraZip, the quick expansive access gave us quick access to what we needed out of the bag, and less thumbing around like we were Mary Poppins pulling stuff out in a frenzy.
We loved the internal stretch pockets when housing the battery pack and wallet while the dedicated tablet sleeve easily secured our laptop. One of the coolest aspects was the ability to carry the sling on the backside of our luggage. With the sling featuring a strap for roller bag luggage carry, the travel expansion options are endless.

We tested the Everyday Sling by loading up the pack, and then heading out on foot for a few blocks worth of travel. Hitting a few coffee shops along the way, we easily found getting gear in and out to be a breeze. Heading back out on the road, our crew then tested the bag cinched to body while jogging from one destination to the other. The bag remained secure and didn’t lose tightness- nor did our gear get tossed around like Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.
