Is it us or do wine headaches rank up there with all the things we want to avoid in our lives. Like nails in the road, the in-laws around the holidays, and taxes. While we can’t avoid these things, one thing we can cross off the list in 2021 are freaking wine headaches. It doesn’t matter if you drink a glass or a bottle(s), the wine headaches will come for you.
Picture it: your girl and you are planning a chill night at home, dinner being made and your thinking of popping open some good wine. If you are in your 30’s you re-consider because of the possible next morning headache (or even the same night for some). If you are in your 20’s you probably don’t care, and if you are over 30 you FOR SURE do not want the headaches, face flush, or sluggish hangover the next morning. So, the crew at PureWine™ came up with their magic combo of wine tools to not only filter that bottle of fermented grapes but take away that headache (the one caused by the wine-not the other life stressors you got going on). Our crew had to give it a try and see for ourselves: will the wine headache be a thing of the past?
INITIAL IMPRESSION
When we first were shipped the product line from PureWine™, we found there to be 2 products that we would be reviewing: The Wave™ and The Wand™- each one’s mission to accomplish the removal of wine headaches, skin flush, hangovers, and congestion. While both have the same mission, each one of their products featured goes about accomplishing this goal in different ways. The Wave purifies and aerates an entire bottle of wine as you pour. Pop The Wave on the bottle, pour, and enjoy. The Wand can quickly eliminate unwanted side effects from wine without affecting its natural taste, aroma, or color. Pop one in the glass of wine, stir for 3 minutes, and drink away!
Opening up the box of wine purifying magic, we were impressed by the sleek design of the Wave and the simple and slim profile of the Wand. Both could easily be brought along wherever your wine-travels take you and their footprint is small enough that it wouldnt be a burden to bring over to a friends house, travel bag, or in your office desk- what, is that not ok?
The design, packaging, and promoted promises offered by PureWine™ were very appealing and spoke our language. For a crew like ours, we have a wide range of experiences with wine (some good and some bad), so the idea that we all could benefit from the product like this was something we all could get behind.

EASE OF USE
Our crew first popped open the Wave™ to test. Right out of the box, the simple instructions to pop on the top of a wine bottle couldn’t be more clear. With a little elbow grease, we got the Wave™ on the bottle and started pouring- well not right away. It took a few minutes for the tube to fill up with wine inside, before we could pour out. At times, the pour was a bit slow and almost a trickle, but we re-attached and cleared out the mechanism inside to try and help. We got a few solid pours worth of wine and started drinking. In a matter of just moments we had the wine flowing through the device.
The Wand™ was next on our test-to do. We simply opened the package, twisted the top holder to better clip onto the glass, and submerged The Wand™ in the wine. After just a few swirls in the glass, and about 3 minutes of time, the wine was ready to drink! The ease of use could not be more simple.
THE TASTE
This will be short and to the point: the wine we tasted, tasted the same. Perfect! No missing flavors, no added flavors, just the wine we were promised in the bottle was the wine we tasted even while using the PureWine™ lineup. Score.
THE HEADACHES
Headaches?…what headaches? See what we did there. No joke- our crew had zero headaches during the tasting, or even the day after. In full disclosure we used both The Wave™ and The Wand™ on a few different bottles and tested them with a few different folks. In all the tests, all the wines consumed, and ALL the different experience levels with wine hangovers, we all go the same results: No headaches, little no hangover reports, and face flushing wasn’t even a thing. We don’t know how else to put it- these really do work.
OVERALL
Overall we were very impressed. The product(s) worked as advertised, and we are believers. In some of the testing of The Wave™, the pour was not consistent and at times needed some adjustment to pour faster than a trickle. We chalk it up to possible airflow issues or not connected properly, but the overall outcome of the reduction in headaches, hangovers, and flushing really did work great.

For over 9,000 years wine has been part of our daily lives. PureWine Inc. is a privately held company founded in 2014 by a father and son team, Dr. David Meadows and his son Derek.
