Barbell Apparel: Apparel gone ROM!

IMG_3911.jpeg

Athlete or not- a great pair of fitting joggers, jeans, shorts, shirts and the alike are an essential for any guy out there. Casual gym trotter, full time beast mode, or the ultimate professional athlete- solid workout and athletic apparel can make or break any workout. It can come at a price too that makes you throw in the towel.

Our crew had the privilege of diving into a few pairs of joggers and jeans offered by Barbell Apparel for a hands on (or should we say leg-in) review of the pants Joe Rogan says are “The Best Jeans Ever.” With a range of Athletic to “not so much” duuude crew members, we felt we would see what the leisurely and the athletically (is that even legit grammar?) had to say about the Barbell lineup.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

So we initially browsed Barbell Apparels’ review section of their site to see what customers thought of their lineup. Ya know- recon on the apparel we were about to test out. We saw a lot of “The Best”, “Perfect”, “Amazing Gear”, and “Almost too good to be true” in the customer comments- so we got to thinking…is the lineup that good? Like no joke we couldn’t find a review that wasn’t as flattering as your high school girlfriend saying you aged well at the reunion. So, our initial impression started off pretty strong. But we didn’t want to get all amped and then depressed like you do when a “Must See” movie comes out and it sucks. We digress…

Onto the review…

Our crew was sent 2 pairs of Joggers and 2 pairs of Jeans. In fact, these were the 4 pairs we were sent:

Pretty legit lineup if you ask us. Right out of the package, the joggers were both very similar in look and structure, yet the Black UltraLight Joggers were very sleek, lightweight, and almost like a windbreak type of feel on the outside. The Green Recon Joggers were a bit heavier and thicker in the material. Similar cut and style, yet the material felt a bit better to wear in colder conditions. Both sets of Joggers felt great to touch, came in some sleek packaging, and the sew lines, cut, and tailored spots appeared to be spot on.

The 2 pairs of Athletic Fit Jeans both felt soft to the touch, featured the flexible denim material guys are raving about, and had perfect cut lines for comfort on the waist, and hem through to the bottom of the legs. The 2 color variations were great for the casual look or even a dressed up look for a night out. Both pairs felt great to touch and were made with quality and the fine touches really elevated these jeans.

Initial duuude Impression: If you could wear pants with your eyes, look no further than this lineup.

TESTING IT OUT

Now the fun part- trying these Bad(bells) out. Being our crew is made up of different duuudes we wanted to give you our review from 2 perspectives: The Non-Athlete (TNA) and The Athlete (TA). Our crew broke down the review by looking at Overall Fit, Comfort, and Mobility Factor (ya know doing crazy gym shit and beating these things up in the elements).

Overall Fit

barbell apparel fit.jpg

Grabbing a pair of the pants and having them sized up based on our normal waist and length fits, the crew threw on the jeans and joggers. Both pairs fit slightly different than the other, but for the most part we’re just right for the joggers (a little more slim fitting and tighter on waist) and the jeans ( a bit looser on the waist and flexible fit on the inseam lines). The fit was on point as the cut lines, hems, and overall layout on our body was as if they were made for us (we know they were not). Overall the fit was a score for the crew.

TNA:

“Love the fit- perfect for our lack of legs”

TA:

“Yes!!! Perfect fit along the legs into the calves”

Comfort

barbell mobility.jpg

Comfort is King. So, when our crew tested out the comfort of the joggers and jeans we had to make sure we gave it the royal treatment. Our crew took the joggers out for a hike and then a night out (before things got shut down again) and both style of leg holders were solid. The jeans were flexible in the hips, waist, and the nether regions to where we almost felt like we had nothing on at all. The stretch of the jeans were perfect- not too flexible yet enough stiffness any guy would want. The joggers didn’t bunch, didn’t restrict, and the inner material composition was smooth on our skin. One neat side to the joggers is the lightweight option offered a more cooler breathable vibe while the Recon were a bit thicker, perfect for a crisp morning or chill night.

TNA:

“Comfortable kicking it on the couch".”

TA:

“Gym to home these joggers rock”

Mobility

barbell comfort.jpg

Nobody wants to walk like a Penguin- and you shouldn’t have to when wearing Jeans or Joggers. Sometimes Jeans are nice to look at, but try and bend over and it feels like your folding cardboard on your junk. Not here folks. The jeans are built to hit a hike or a Ninja Warrior Course, and the Joggers make stretching, bending, running, jumping, and flexing like it isn’t even a thing. Our crew found that whether we ran in them, slept in them, walked in them, or laid around in them- they offered the mobility one would want in a pair of pants.

TNA:

“Lounging never felt so good”

TA:

“No matter the workout- mobility is not an issue”
