We all know shorts used to be a lazy man’s weekend or relaxing apparel for to. But in recent years shorts have really taken it up a notch. We have reviewed several apparel offerings from Cuts over the years from Joggers to Shirts and still don’t know everything that Cuts has up their sleeves (or pants), but we do know these shorts are designed with the same attention to detail that goes into their shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts- making them quite the universal hit.

Our crew wanted to try on some of the new shorts offered by Cuts Clothing, so we nabbed a few color options and took them out on the town for the ultimate duuude review.

INITAL IMPRESSIONS

When we first took a peek at the new shorts we were drawn to the overall design, color options and cut/hem lines that go into each pair. In addition, we liked the length, feel, material, and overall lineup. With over 4 new styles to choose from, the picks were endless.

The Mojave Shorts

TRYING THEM OUT

Now that we got the initial thought logged in our noggins, we wanted to try these Modern Shorts out for a real “walk-through.” Our crew tested and ranked these shorts on their overall Construction, Material Quality, and Feel/Wearability.

Construction 

The construction of these shorts feature a hem line with a clean finish front. Each pair has as hem line above the knee for added comfort and flexible fit. The tie front waistband is a strong and well designed element. We dug the 4-way stretch design for comfort and quick drying fabric for shedding water and sweat. The shorts have plenty of pockets and side hidden pockets. The key pocket is smart for another slim fit carry option and these shorts have 0 belt loops so no added baggage on the journey.

• Construction Rating: 9/10

Material Quality

Quality is key. When it comes to the material used in the shorts, the quality can be a difference maker. We’ve all had those shorts you washed once after wearing it and it shrunk a size after and never looked the same. Hate that. Or the shorts that got one little sweat mark and it stood out like a sore thumb. Hate that too. These shorts come pre-shrunk so you know the look and feel will be the same after you wash them. We tried it out and washed them several times- each time the shorts looked and felt like we just got them shipped to the door.

• Material Rating: 9/10

Feel/wearability 

Here is where the rubber meets the road- or in this case the shorts meet the short world. Huh? Whatever, look, the feel of shorts on your thighs matters. Our crew tossed on each pair of styles and wore them out and about. From the pool to the office, running errands around town- the shorts wore great. We started with the swim trunks by the pool and then switched to the Sunday shorts for a casual chill afternoon. After work, swapped out our shorts for the Mojave and hit the evening scene. The changing of shorts and shirts really mixed the look and vibe up well. They held up throughout the day, didn’t get any “stains or marks” on the material as we sat in the pool, kicked our feet up, and lived in them all day.

With regards to sizing, you can check out the Sizing Guide offered by Cuts Clothing to find the right size of shorts to go with. Our crew for the most part are in the 6 foot tall range and typically wear a medium to large size in general.

• Feel/Wearability Rating: 10/10

Our crew dug the shorts and would say they’re some of the more versatile shorts we have ever tested.

What stands out to most does not always stand out to all- for us, some of the standout features that we found with Cuts Clothing was:
