If there is one thing 2020 taught us- it was that there is no better time to get into- or back into (yeah we are looking at you mirror)- a healthy routine. If you are like our crew, the “getting started” or “back into” part is the hardest. The first step is to grab a hold of, put on, and rep the apparel needed to conquer the day.
Apparel like the amazing stuff made by HYLETE. With their lineup of both men and women’s fitness apparel, HYLETE raises the game on comfortable, practical, durable, and sexy AF looking apparel to get any workout level up and going. Our crew had the privilege of grabbing a few key items and best sellers to give a test run while we raised our workout game.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
Right out the box- the lineup of apparel was a huge hit. The plethora of solid pieces, colors, textures, materials, and all around looks had our crew geeking out. The various apparel items had each their own unique and distinct purpose and the wide range of performance apparel was quite shocking-in a good way. From flexible pants to joggers, shorts to hoodies, jackets and beyond- the full lineup of essentials is non-stop.
For the review of HYLETE, our crew was sent Fuse Pants, Icon II Quad-Blend Crew, Flexion Tech Shorts, Medallion Zip Hoodie, Flexion II Jacket and Ion Pants. Each item had their own “place” if you will in the necessity for any athletic adventure. With the lineup of pants, shirts, jackets and beyond- our crew was set for an entire outing.
Right out of the package, the pants were both very similar in structure, yet the ION pants were very sleek, lightweight, and almost like a windbreak type of feel on the outside. The Fuse pants were a bit heavier and thicker in the material. Similar cut and style, yet the material felt a bit better to wear in colder conditions. Both sets of pants felt great to touch, came in some sleek packaging, and the sew lines, cut, and tailored spots fit perfectly.
The zip hoodie and jacket were standouts all on their own. The soft texture of the hoodie’s exterior screamed comfort, while the Flexion jacket featured a perfect smooth and heavy construction that once we put on we could not take off (because it is that legit). The color variations were great for mixing up styles and all articles felt well constructed and the attention to detail on the cut lines, structure, and elements were spot on.

The FUSE pants really do let you in-FUSE them into any activity or workout (see what we did there?). The material in these pants must have been made from clouds because they are extremely breathable and flex with you as you walk, run, jog, or kick it on the couch (yes we even test couch-kicking it). Our crew had zero issues with full range of motion and the slim fit taper adds a sleek look while you are doing whatever it is you would do in pants.

ICON II QUAD-BLEND TEE FEATURES:

Athletic Cut: This black crew neck t-shirt for men has a v-shaped athletic cut that complements the results of your training.
Perfect Stretch: This black crew neck shirt has the perfect amount of stretch to keep your training movements comfortable and unrestricted.
The HYLETE ICON II shirt is a really solid choice to go with if looking for a low-weight yet structurally solid shirt. The proprietary quad-blend fabric adds a really soft dimension to a shirt and the comfortable athletic fit holds your body in all the right places (perfect for Valentines Day if you ask us). Our crew wore the shirt to meetings, around town, even at the gym- no not at the same time. We washed it each time ok? None-the-less, this shirt should be in your wardrobe lineup no matter the time of year.

Comfortable AF shorts meet our readers. Readers meet the comfortable AF shorts by HYLETE. Can you say you have a pair of sophisticated shorts in your closet? Yeah- we thought so. The comfort built around an these extraordinarily smooth and breathable 4-way stretch fabric shorts is nothing shy of perfection. They can be worn on a casual night stroll, a hard-hitting gym routine, or yes kicking it on the couch. No matter what you do in them, they will hold up to the challenge. Now, if you start wearing these with dress shoes you may have some judgy eyes coming your way.

Phone/mp3 Holder: An Inner pocket for a phone or mp3 player and eyelet in front pouch pocket provides easy access to your tunes.
The medallion zip hoodie is one of our favorite apparel items by HYLETE. The athletic fit and a comfortable french terry interior really did keep us warm before, during, and after our workouts. The added thumbhole at the cuff of each sleeve adds another needed element for those who like being active in their hood(ies). We dug the comfort level, the fit, and the weight of this hoodie. The softness holds up even after the washer get’s it paws on it, and the best part is- it is warm yet not an oven on your chest. Perfect sleeve length, cuff tightness, and the hood is a good size too (believe us we have seen some over-sized hoods).

The Flexion Jacket has all the things. The Flexion II Jacket features an interior waffle texture for superior comfort and temperature regulation in a technical fabric that breathes while you move. The sleeves also come with thumbholes at the cuff lines, the jacket has compartments to easily store your phone or wallet, and the way it fits your body is hard to put into words- sheer magic maybe? All we know is the comfort level is on high, the fit is on point, and the hood-zip rim build (what did we just say?) is one of the coolest zip hoodie tops we have tested. We simply can’t get enough of this zip jacket- hence we are wearing it as we write this review.

Last on our list of the reviewed items (and by no means because it is not as worthy as the other items), The Ion Pant is one of our favorite pants of the year so far. The do-it-all pant (even the dishes if you asked them to) was built with resiliency and comfort for the gym and street appeal for everyday wear. They are lightweight and breathable, and the quick-drying fabric stretches with your every move without losing its shape. We wore these dressed up and down and nobody called us out- we think that is a win. The slash pockets are perfectly placed, the storage options are what pants need, and the taper is so on point we want to know who personally cut these so we can cut our other pants. All in all these pants rocked!
