We dig shoes. In fact, we are sort of finicky when it comes to what we put on our feet (or our feet in rather). So, when we searched the ends of the outerwebs trying to find a comfortable sneaker that was made with durable, quality, and legit craftsman ship we stumbled across a shoes brand that did just that: taos.
Now, if you were to go to the taos website, you’d say…hey duuude’s….these are women’s shoes. We would then direct you to the pair of sneakers they make for guys- The Starsky. Now, one could argue that the boots, sneakers, shoes, and wool options on their website could be worn by anyone-sure we dig that. But in terms of the specific look our crew was going for, we went with the sneaker that we say is like “walking on a cloud.”
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
Our crew tested out the sneakers from taos- the Starsky if we are getting specific. Right out the box, the shoe was an instant eye-candy hit. The sleekness of the shoe, the build, the profile could easily go with any outfit and look. The multiple color options give those looking to mix and match or find the neutral color that goes with their lineup of attire- taos has the look.
The feeling of the exterior shoe, the sole, the inner design and foot support was instantly impressive and looking like a legit shoe to test out. Before we get to testing, this is the cosntruction and design we are getting our feet into.
Full Support
The Starsky features heal support for balance, the inner sole curves provide support for your feet and the arch support forms to the inside of your foot for the utmost comfort. Metatarsal support helps reduce foot fatigue and pressure on the ball of your feet. The pd design creates a shock absorbing element for the ultimate cushion.
Support
Shoes should not only look good but feel good-to wear. The inner sole design comes with 3 aspects of support so you know your foot is comforted like a grandma’s hug. The heel, arch and metatarsal support all keep your foot in the supportive zone.
Durable Soles
Your sole matters. The bottom of a shoe is probably the most underrated part. No sole= Fred Flinstoning it. The Starsky offers a durable and nice grip sole that keep the tread below your toes- where it should be.

THE FIT
Right away one of our crew members stole the shoes for themselves to review. We get it- they were a highly sought after pair of sneakers. So when it comes to the fit, you have to see what they said:
“These fit like a glove- but not a tight uncomfortable one. The feeling of the shoe around my foot was perfection and the inner sole did in fact conform to my sole. The laces were perfect in tying to the perfect pressure and my toes had the exact amount of room I needed. No slipping off the back of my ankle (so no rubbing) and the cut lines of the shoe aligned to my ankles like it was made for just me.“
Seems like they liked it.
THE FEEL
That same crew member also shared their feelings about the feel. That is A LOT of “feels” right there.
“I’ve gotta feeling…tonight’s gonna be a good night… No joke these shoes make me feel like I am walking on a cloud. The roaming the downtown city, heading to and from the office, these shoes were my go to for all the things. The feel of the exterior is even smooth and soft.”

OVERALL
Overall the report from the field was positive. The inner sole is something worth writing home about, and the look with jeans, slacks and even joggers work! The wearing of these bad boys all day long are soft and comfortable. The look was the perfect style for 2021 and the flexibility of the shoe was spot on. Overall we likey-a lot-y.
