We love camping. We love heading to the outdoors, hiking, exploring nature and being in the elements. Being in the elements can be perfect or, it can be cold AF. Yeah we said it- nobody wants to go outdoors and be stuck in the cold, and freezing their cherries off at the same time. That is where we turn to Gobi heat- Gobi Heat® is a U.S. based, 100% female owned heated apparel company headquartered in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Run by a team of experts, Gobi Heat® is leading the charge in the heated apparel industry, delivering powerful heated apparel in functional fits and designs.

Our crew wanted to test out the heating systems Gobi makes for their outdoor lineup- we got our hands (and feet/butts in) some of their gear for our crew’ review.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
Gobi Heat® is proudly named after the vast Gobi Desert straddling both Mongolia and China. With temperatures ranging from 122ºF in the summer to as low as -27ºF in the winter, the Gobi desert serves to remind us of the importance of being prepared for anything and everything that comes our way. Much like its namesake, Gobi Heat® strives for ongoing growth and evolution.
Our crew focused on two different products from the vast lineup of Gobi heat-stay warm no matter what- products.

Built on an ultra-durable steel frame, our heated camping chair allows you to set your ideal temperature with three heat settings: low (113°F), medium (122°F), and high (131°F). Your chosen heat level is delivered to two heat zones made up of our cutting-edge conductive-thread technology sewn into a durable 600/300 Denier Polyester and located in the seat and lower back of the chair. Thanks to our efficient 7.4V 6,500 lithium polymer battery (that doubles as a phone charging port, by the way) you’ll enjoy a warm backside for up to 9 hours on low, 6 hours on medium, and 4.5 hours on high. To date, no other heated camping chair can provide the same impressive maximum temperature level or run time on a single, fully charged 7.4V battery as the Gobi Heat® heated camping chair (with a patent pending design).

TESTING IT OUT
So now that we have charged up the batteries on the socks and the chair- how does it hold up?
HEAT
With a brand claiming to heat up whatever you bring to the outdoors, wouldn’t you want to know if it really heats up? Yeah…that was our though too. So, after the batteries were fully charged, we plugged into the socks and chair. The batteries charge separate and they themselves “heat up” the socks and chairs. See once you charge the battery packs, you plug them into the pre-wired connectors of the socks or the chairs. Each battery works for its respective product and comes with settings for low, medium, or higher heat. The battery pack indicator tells you with its illuminating effect what power or heat mode you have selected.
The Socks: Within about 3 minutes and set on high, the socks surely heated up through the entire pair. We could feel the heat in all parts of the socks from the backs to the soles of our feet. The heat was not so hot it felt like we were on fire, but enough to warm up our feet for sure. On low it would almost feel as though your feet were just naturally warm. However, when tested in colder rooms or atmosphere we noticed the heat even on low did work wonders.
The Chair: The chair was perfect! We plugged in the battery pack and hit high (set it to its highest) and in a matter of a few minutes we could feel the warmth from the seat, to the chair back. The heat felt AMAZING under our rear ends (no we were not naked) and could be felt through even thicker pants. The heat was consistent, kept the chair warm for hours, and worked just like it said.
Overall we would say the heat score is a 10/10
DURABILITY
Durability is something that is not only important in building, bridges, and castles (random reference we know). It matters in your outdoor gear too.
We took these socks to one of our crew members family cabin (while it was snowing) and sat out in the snow- socks and chair handled it. We then packed up and let another crew member take the socks and chair to a camping trip in Utah with some friends- traveled well, charge held, and they even washed the socks (yes you can do that) and everything still worked. We charged phones on the power pack, we broke down and set up the chair several times, we went into cold weather and even colder weather- heck we even used the chair as a desk chair while we were waiting for our new desk chair to be shipped and we have to say- durability and comfort were both top notch.
Overall we would say the durability score is a 9/10
OVERALL
What can we say other than we are in love with these products from Gobi Heat. Not going to lie- we didn’t know this brand was as cool (or shall we say hot) as it was after testing. We didn’t really think we needed heated apparel and gear, but now that we have tested it we just don’t see us using any other products for the elements. The utility was there, the ease of use is there. What more could we want?
