INITIAL IMPRESSIONS
When you first review a brand like Sandmarc, you gotta seek out their vibe, culture, and brand focus. Developed in San Diego (where our duuude founder was born and raised), Sandmarc hits you with an iconic iPhone 11 4k video made with none other than the very product they sell. Take a look:
Dope AF is an understatement. The clear lines, crisp video resolution, and the vibe makes us want to pack up and head back down to the sunny coast of San Diego. Our crew got our hands on Sandmarc’s Leather Collection for this review, which is their staple ecosystem designed for Apple products (which we have to admit is all we use here in the duuude crew hub). Our crew tested out their Pro Leather Case and Leather Edition MacBook Pro Carrying Case for our review.

Both the leather phone case and Macbook carry cases feature extremely smooth, beautifully tanned leather (we reviewed brown color variations) and features craftsmanship like none other. The amazing aroma pouring from the box as we opened each item had us digging the brand from box reveal.

TESTING IT OUT
Our crew took each product and slide in our Macbook, snapped in our iPhone and hit the road- to try each of the items out as part of the review. While each product serves a different purpose, we wanted to test the entire lineup as a whole under a few different conditions: Durability and Functionality.
DURABILITY
When it comes to durability, the measure really varies by what you use it for. For us, when it comes to a phone case we always look for ones that can hold the phone snug like a bear snatching a fish out of water, one that can take a drop or two from a pocket onto the floor or a tumble out of hand after a late night. A phone case should not just look cool- it should hold up, look great from day one to day 501 and be up for the road ahead.
For the Macbook case, the sole idea is to be able to carry one’s laptop in style but trust as it might take a car door to the case, a fall from the car as you are loading up for a trip, or even the abuse from a the ole’ zipper game. No matter the road, use, or plans- a case needs to be durable.
Phone Case
Who doesn’t have their iPhone with them everywhere they go? Don’t even try to tell us you don’t bring it into the bathroom with you. We all do. Own your truth bro. This case can handle bathroom runs (no pun intended), car trips, office meetings, travel, tossing into the seat next to you, dropping on the floor, you name it the phone case is along for the ride. What is great is the aluminum threading camera protection and microfiber inner lining & metal buttons- the added protection is insane. For a minimal case design, the added aluminum is a game changer. To add to this, the premium leather is perfect for graceful aging and holds up with the ever so often grab and go lifestyle we live.
Macbook Carry Case
The Macbook case was no second place folks. The sleek design of the minimal leather case is made from full-grain leather & microfiber lining. This adds solid protection both outside of the bag and inside. The low profile handle can carry the weight and after several days of use there was no-pulling or frays from the handle. provide durability, comfort & protection. The zippers are high quality too, giving confidence whatever you zip up, can zip down.
Overall we would say the durability score is a 10/10
FUNCTIONALITY
What the Func?(tionality). But for real- what is the point of a phone case, carrying case, heck anything if it is not functional? We all have blindly ordered the phone case online thinking it would do the job and it delivered nothing but heartache, or laptop case shopped and they are all the same fake leather garbage. When it comes to functionality it needs to meet both the intended use and the ability to stand the test of long term use.
Phone Case
Yo. This case is one of the best we have tested. Perfect fit in your hand, smooth clean lines, and a leather that would make any cow proud to be on a phone case like this- Sandmarc hit the nail on the head here. Sleek design is perfect for those who want more of a minimal look and feel. No slip-n-sliding case here. Just a clean and crisp case. The ability too in adding a lens is perfect for those who don’t want to get their hands dirty trying to swap cases or find the right match.
Macbook Carry Case
Yo again. The Macbook carrying case is as simple as they come. One zipper end gives you the access to slide the laptop in, and another zipper on front to bring along the friends (ya know, the mouse). The no strap design just has one carry handle so you can walk into a meeting like a boss (at least that is how we felt). We dug the design, however was not used to the one end zip and no access elsewhere. For those who simply need a bag to carry a laptop this would be perfect, but needing access for other papers or items would not be the bag to go with.
Overall we would say the functionality score is a 9/10
OVERALL TEST RESULTS
Sandmarc is our new favorite leather phone and laptop case brand. We have wanted to test out their lineup for a while and now that we had a chance to give the cases (phone and laptop) features a go-we are believers. The Feel of the leather is super lightweight, sleek and smooth. The aluminum integration is freaking genius, and the functionality to add on Sandmarc lenses for when we finally finish our Influencers in the Wild training course is so legit we can’t wait to start filming. From the technical specs, brand design, and offerings, Sandmarc has all you need and more to crush content creation in 2022.
