TESTING IT OUT
Redwood Outdoors makes it easy to create your own backyard oasis with their pre-fabricated outdoor saunas. All you need is a level spot in your yard and you can have your very own sauna up and running in no time.
Sauna Installation Basics
The first thing you'll need to do is choose a level spot for your sauna. Once your installation site is prepared, it's time to start putting together your sauna. Redwood Outdoors' saunas come pre-fabricated and include everything you need for installation. All you have to do is follow the included instructions and you'll have your sauna up and running in no time.
Watching the guided video helped a lot! Our crew has always wanted to try this out, but never had the tools, equipment or, grits to get it done. With the guided video setting the stage and giving everyone the tools to take it as easy as they need- it was surely the way to help us get into it. After the sauna is installed, all that's left to do is enjoy it!
At first site of install we were a bit timid- but it is not that rough. Once installed, simply follow the startup guide to getting the temps heated/cooled, to your liking. Each sauna kit includes a back rest so you can get comfortable and the wooden benches are really comfortable with the aromatic scents of the red cedar filling the air. The towel hook (included) is a great place to keep towels for drying off and cooling down between rounds.
Anyone with novice woodworking skills could build one in approximately 4 hours. All the assembler will need is a spirit level, a Phillips head screwdriver drill, an adjustable wrench, a hammer, and a rubber mallet….and someone to possibly head inside and relax with (that is up to you to find…)
After about a week of consistent use, we started to really look forward to the down-time in the sauna and the relaxing effects it provides. The refreshing nature smells, the time given to thinking of nothing else in our day but the calmness in nature, and the powerful use of simple warm or cooler temperature to help restore our bodies, minds, and in a way spirits, was just what our yard needed.
STANDOUT FEATURES
After using the Outdoor Sauna for a few weeks, there were some key things that stood out to our crew about it:
The temperature variations are perfect for relaxation. Most often we range between 160F and 190F. The electric heaters are designed to heat the sauna to a maximum temperature of 195F. The heaters use a thermometer to gauge the temperature inside the sauna.
In general, for electric heaters the sauna will heat up to 160F in ~30 mins
They sure a roomy- No joke we had 6 friends in this thing before we knew it- all cozy
You do need an electrician to wire the sauna to the exterior electrical- but better to be safe than going at it alone!
Shipping is quick- and this can be used year-round which adds value no matter the season
