Time to Change your Oil to Brightland Olive Oil

Olive Oil has never tasted so good.

When we say change your oil, do you think about your car? We did. But then we stumbled across a different kind of oil, that is just as vital for YOUR engine: Olive Oil. Our crew was not up on our olive oil game, and honestly did not give this body nourishing wonder mix a second thought. But then a buddy introduced us to Brightland. With Brightland, you can find some of the best tasting and healthy olive oils and vinegars this side of the sun.

The team at Brightland came up with a blend of authentic olive oils and vinegars that are never rotten, overprocessed, or fraudulent. Made with absolutely no fillers or artificial preservatives- some of the best this earth has to offer is bottled up and shipped right to your door. Our crew loves to cook, and we thought “why not” give this olive oil a try on our next cook-off.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

A little back story on Brightland to help share what impacted our crew the most in terms of our initial impression. Brightland carefully sources their olives from a family-run California farm, then craft them into custom-blended oils. The main ingredient comes from trees that have been alive for decades, so you can trust these olives are some of the best around. If that is not enough of a selling point consider this: It’s grounded. It’s good for you. It’s never seen a lab.

The Brightland fruit-forward vinegars are made on a nutrient-dense, family-run farm in California’s Central Coast. Chardonnay and Zinfandel grapes, Navel and Valencia oranges, and ripe Triple Crown blackberries are grown in nutrient-dense soil, selected with care, and double fermented in stainless steel. You’ll taste the process on your palate - zingy and bright, bold and decadent. Doesn’t that sound legit AF?

According to the UC Davis Olive Center, nearly 70% of imported olive oil samples failed to meet minimum sensory standards for extra-virgin olive oil, and had defects ranging from rancidity to adulteration with cheaper refined oils.
— Brightland

Digging in a bit more we found that not all olive oils are created equal. In fact, adulterated olive oils can contain a blend of inferior quality vegetable oils like soybean oil, sunflower oil, palm oil or canola oil. So, that olive oil you bought may not even be ALL-OLIVE Oil. This leads to the oil going bad during a variety of commercial production processes.

With Brightland, they don’t mix in crap- and they don’t mess around. The fullness of flavor, the process of harvest, and the straightforward research based education on oil had us all-in on a change up to our olive oil game.

Our initial duuude impression: Time to Change the Oil!

Our crew tested out each blend of olive oil on a variety of dishes. Some of the olive oil was mixed into a seasoning rub for tri-tip, grilled chicken, and roasted corn on the cob. We infused some of the oils in traditional salad dressings and even created a few of our own blends. We even enjoyed a sampling of oil with a side of vinegar as we dipped our bread and other snacks in it as we prepped our meal. Our crew noted the following on Flavor, Quality, and Usefulness:

Flavor: 10/10

Legit flavor, no bitterness, just smooth tasty notes with a clean finish.

Quality: 10/10

It’s just flat out better than anything store bought. You can taste it. Plain and simple.

Usefulness: 10/10

What doesn’t it go on is the real question.
