Recess is our Current Mood

Growing up our favorite subject in Elementary School was recess. Without it, we wouldn’t have survived. Now that we are adults, we are digging a new way to enjoy another type of Recess- a sparkling water infused with magnesium/hemp and adaptogens to calm the mind and lift the mood. Recess sparkling water brings a not tired, not wired pump to your water routine.

Who knew a mood could be canned in a variety of flavors? It makes sense though- life is stressful at times and while there are plenty of mood altering additives in a variety of consumables, Recess tackles the issue differently. Our crew set out on a taste test exploration to find out more about Recess.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

Recess hits your taste buds with 2 types of sparkling waters: Recess and Recess Mood. Recess is a sparkling water infused with hemp extract and adaptogens for calm and clarity. Recess Mood is a sparkling water infused with magnesium and adaptogens for calm and clarity.

No matter the can you crack open on a stressful day, there are two paths to calm. Stress exists as both a feeling in our minds and a physiological response in our bodies. that’s why Recess was made: two distinct paths to a single destination.

Crack a Can, Calm the Mind.

The lineup from Recess is really dynamic and offers a wide range of flavor profiles, under both drink concepts. The Recess lineup features flavors like Black Cherry, Blood Orange, Coconut Lime, and Blackberry Chai to name a few.

The lineup of flavors doesn’t stop here. Recess Mood features it’s own flavor lineup to rock your tastebuds. Recess Mood features flavors including Strawberry Rose, Peach Ginger, and Blood Orange to name a few.

Each Recess Mood and Recess cans are made with adaptogens which are a class of plants and herbs that help your body deal with stress. Recess chose these for their ability to support hemp’s leading role (In the Recess Blend) and creates the feeling many know as calm-cool-collected. While Recess is made with broad spectrum hemp, Recess Mood is made with magnesium L-threonate.

According to Recess, recent science has shown that hemp helps support a variety of physiological processes by interacting with our body’s endocannabinoid system (part of the nervous system). in non-science terms, it calms the mind and centers the body. TESTING IT OUT

Our crew grabbed the cans of Recess, dropped in the ole refrigerator, chilled for a bit and then got into the biz.

Well, whatever science wants to say we are down with here. The flavors to start with are legit good. We are not the biggest fans of sparkling waters- they often taste too bubbly watery and less flavory (if that is even a thing). Not with Recess. The flavor blend to water is perfection. We could not stop drinking it. The belnd of herbs was perfect and we could feel a slight calmness the more we consumed throughout the week. We found ourselves reaching for the Orange blend a lot and one crew member wanted to marry Black Cherry.

Recess Mood

Per Recess- magnesium L-threonate is a new form of magnesium shown to enter the brain and help you create more feel good neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine (you can think of it as brain magnesium).

We are jiving on this folks. We are big believers in magnesium already and taking care of your/our brains. With these flavors much like the OG Recess, this is where the sauce is folks. The flavors were amazing, the magnesium infusion was perfect, and we could not have enjoyed these any more. We can’t say we noticed the magnesium effects with just a few tastings, but anything to help boost your mind’s performance is a win in our book.

Testing these Recess blends were a hit around the office. The flavor was spot on, crispness was there, smooth finish was felt (oh boy was it felt) and the infusions blended here are unlike anything we have ever tasted. We couldn’t believe how much we loved these sparkling waters after the tasting.
