SESH: Where Cocktails and Seltzers Hookup

If Cocktails and Seltzers Had a Baby: SESH

One night a cocktail and a seltzer hooked up and in short time gave birth to a drink. A drink they named: SESH. See, SESH sits at the intersection of the two fastest growing segments of the alcohol industry: Cocktails and Seltzers. Now, you no longer need to be forced into picking one over the other. Meet SESH, the drink that delivers flavor, low calories, and low sugar in a space where Cocktails and Seltzers continue to gain interest in drink game go-to’s.

SESH FACTS

The creators of SESH mixed up the idea in their dorm rooms (don’t most killer ideas start there?) and is the home of the inspiration to deliver a more authentic product and aligns with consumer macro trends: health and wellness, premium, and purpose driven products. With the official launch in February 2021, this new wave of drinks, just may as well have started out right here. Our crew wanted to test out the flavors and mixed drinks to see if SESH, was well, IN-SESH (see what we did there?). We grabbed a few cans, hit the cooler, and gave these drinks a tasting.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS

Our initial impression of SESH’s lineup of cocktails/seltzers started with the initial look at the contents per can/mixed drink. With zero sugar, 120 calories, 16 carbs, and 6% alcohol per beverage, we thought this was a solid start to a solid night. Not to mention the drinks are made gluten free (no gluten gut thank you), and formulated with all natural ingredients, we figured these would be worth the guzzle (or slow sippin’).

SESH features a lineup of 4 different flavors, all packages in a nice can for easy drinking and chilling.

  • Gin & Tonic- A Gin and Tonic is a highball cocktail made with gin and tonic water poured over a large amount of ice.

  • Mojito- Mojito is a traditional Cuban highball that often consists of five ingredients: white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint.

  • Moscow Mule- A Moscow Mule is a cocktail made with vodka, spicy ginger beer, and lime juice, garnished with a slice or wedge of lime.

  • Paloma- The Paloma is a tequila-based cocktail. This drink is most commonly prepared by mixing tequila, lime juice, and a grapefruit-flavored soda such as Fresca, Squirt, or Jarritos and served on the rocks with a lime wedge.

The lineup from SESH features simple All-Natural ingredients and packs the flavor punch that could probably take a mule down (see what we did there?). No, we do not condone knocking down a mule, but we are all in on the 120 calorie and 6% ABV cans in the SESH variety pack lineup. The box is cool, the cans are sleek, the flavor offerings are solid choices for all flavor junkies. The promises by SESH could make for some of the best tasting summer drinks our crew has set its taste-buds on.

Our initial duuude impression: Drinks are in SESH-on.

TESTING IT OUT

Now that our crew tossed the cans in the fridge, we took each of the 4 varieties, popped open the tops, and poured a glass (or a mug) for all to try. Each can brought a different level of flavor and punch-

Gin & Tonic

SESHGin_TonicCan-Front_6e5d0bac-d742-4325-aacf-9cf8cfa0937c_700x.png

KEY FEATURES:

  • Alcohol: 6% by volume

  • Flavor: Traditional Gin & Tonic

  • Gluten Free

  • Recommended: Over ice, chilled in the can or short glass

From SESH:

“This respected classic once protected British troops from malaria. It now protects you from boring. All of the fresh botanical bartender-mixed taste, none of the sugar, mixing, or waiting.”

From duuude:

We won’t lie and say we are the biggest Gin & Tonic fans. But, we will say the mix from SESH was actually quite tasty. It was very subtle, and the flavors did not “punch” like we thought it would. It was smooth, very crisp, and the malaria we had is now gone. Kidding. We never had it. But, we did think the smooth finish of the SESH Gin & Tonic was a solid B+

Mojito

SESHMojitoCan-Front_0508e649-d4bb-4901-984f-94462018e9d5_700x.png

KEY FEATURES:

  • Alcohol: 6% by volume

  • Flavor: Traditional Mojito

  • Gluten Free

  • Recommended: Over ice, chilled in the can or tall glass

From SESH:

“All beach, no sand. That’s what’s inside this can. That, and a bold, flavorful combo of mint and lime. It’s for the spirited type who wants to kick off a party or kick off the flip flops. Either way, kick back and enjoy.”

From duuude:

Summer is calling and with this drink, you can now answer that call. This was a solid mixed drink. The flavors were right on point and was very solid in it’s construction. Translation: it was friggin’ delicious. The mint and lime was perfectly mixed and the finish was smooth and clean. By far one of the best mojito’s in a can we have tried.

Moscow Mule

SESHMoscowMuleCan-Front_b49d1323-58ae-40dd-9a35-d55fe34917c3_700x.png

KEY FEATURES:

  • Alcohol: 6% by volume

  • Flavor: Traditional Moscow Mule

  • Gluten Free

  • Recommended: Over ice, chilled in copper mug

From SESH:

“Warm, yet refreshing. Edgy, yet comforting. Gingery, yet limey. Classic, yet canned. This portable version of the legend includes all the complexities, contradictions, and characters of the original. Copper mug not required.”

From duuude:

We dig a Moscow Mule. We typically despise mule’s made ahead of time and prefer to mix our own. With that being said, this can from SESH was actually pretty well blended. We for sure prefer to drink it out of a copper mug (it’s just how these drinks were meant to be consumed), and when we added ice and even a few lime wedges, the flavor was rather good. The plus here is if you don’t want to mess around with mixing your own, the can option here is worth a cooler spot.

Paloma

KEY FEATURES:

  • Alcohol: 6% by volume

  • Flavor: Traditional Paloma Style

  • Gluten Free

  • Recommended: Over ice, chilled in short glass

From SESH:

“Tequila drinks have always had a fun reputation, and our inspired take on a modern classic keeps that reputation alive. One refreshing sip at a time. Its bubbly bite of grapefruit and sweet-sour ambiguity are welcome guests at any occasion.”

From duuude:

Look- Tequila is one of our favorites. Now add in some grapefruit and a little sweet-sour, and BAM its a classic beach sippin’ drink. SESH delivered here on the flavor. The ability to get this flavorful drink in a can with under 120 calories and 0 grams of sugar is rocket science. Ok, maybe not that extreme but the blend was infused well and the mix taste like anything you’d pay $14 at a bar.
