How to Open Wine Without a Wine Opener
Wine and Dine- in the Garage.
You got that killer bottle of wine and you’re ready to pour but there is one problem- you don’t have a wine opener on hand in the house. So that wine is just sitting there all cooped up waiting to come out! So, do the next best thing and grab a few tools from the garage and get that wine outta there.
WHAT YA NEED:
-Bottle of wine ( we like the selection from Cellars Wine Club)
-Common Screw
-Screw Driver
- Hammer
INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: If the wine has a tin seal over the cork try to peel that off first with the screw or screwdriver
Step 2: Screw the screw into the top of the wine cork about 3/4 the way into the cork for good traction
Step 3: Take the hammer, and with the claw end of the hammer, place under the screw head
Step 4: Gently but with some elbow grease, lift the handle of the hammer away from your body elevating the screw head
Step 5: Use a back and fourth motion, gently wiggling the cork loose from the bottle
Step 6: Pull the remaining cork out of the bottle
Step 7: Grab a glass (or not) and enjoy that wine you now can drink
duuude TIP:
It’s a good idea to use a clean screw just for peace of mind. Also, if the screw head sticks out too much or too little adjust the amount it’s in the cork to best suit the hammer claw size.
